Recipe for Detail #12: DIY Bridal Clutch

Today on Recipe for Detail, we’re making this simple, DIY bridal clutch.  It’s pretty easy to make and its fun to personalize by embellishing with flowers, cute buttons, or even a vintage brooch!

Supplies:  Piece of Fabric; Piece of Felt; Scissors; Needle & Thread; & Magnetic Snap Closure

24Cut a 10″x8″ piece of fabric as well as a 10″x8″ piece of felt (for the clutch lining), making the top ends of the fabric and felt bow shaped.

33

Place the fabric piece and the felt piece right sides together, with the outer or printed side of fabric facing the outside.

43

Fold the two pieces up on one end 3/4 of the way, so that the felt is folded upwards and facing out.  Stitch the two pieces together along the top, bottom and sides, making an envelope.

The clutch is now sewn together, but is inside-out.  Now, flip the clutch right side out.

Sew the magnetic closure parts onto the fabric upper and base.

Hope you enjoy the project and we’ll see you next Tuesday!
