A Recipe for Detail #3: Sugar-Cookie Cake Favors

Today’s treat is a “Sugar-Cookie Cake Favor”.  These basic sugar cookies are stacked to resemble miniature wedding cakes.  Your wedding guests will be happy to take this nice little something home with them!

For this recipe (that makes 8 cakes), you’ll need 8 cups of flour, 2 teaspoons baking powder, 1 teaspoon of salt, 2 cups of unsalted softened butter, 4 cups of sugar, 4 eggs, 4 teaspoons of vanilla extract & icing (pick any color you like!).  Bake 3 different sizes of sugar cookies @ 325 degrees until edges are golden.  Let cool, then smooth icing in between each cookie before stacking them together.  Smooth remainder of icing all around the stacked cookies with a spatula.  Dot miniature wedding cakes with tiny edible pearls and you’re finished.  Voila´!
