A bridal session is the perfect chance to interact with the bride before working with her on the wedding day. I tell my brides to bring along a few things to her bridal session- a fresh bouquet of flowers, her veil, a white sheet to place under the dress if the ground is damp, something to keep hydrated, and a family member or friend for support. I do lots of directing during a bridal session, showing the bride how to pose and where to look. I tend to start with more traditional poses and as she gets more comfortable in front of the camera, I just work from there, capturing her personality at different angles. I find that when a bride brings along her mom or someone close with her, its much easier to evoke her natural emotion when she’s chatting with them or laughing at their jokes. I typically utilize different locations for variety, always trying to find the best natural lighting available in those places. This is Anna’s bridal session that Lauren and Patricia photographed. Enjoy!
